Another beautiful compilation of carols, readings and prayers topped off with accompaniment from the Matterdale Steel Pans formed the 2019 Matterdale Church carol service. Carols this year Once in royal David's city, It came upon the midnight clear, See amid the winter's snow, The Virgin Mary had a baby boy, Mary's boy child, Silent night, holy night, The first Nowell, Hark! the herald-angels sing and O come all ye faithful. The carols were interspersed by readings from members of the Matterdale community in an alphabetically lead Christmas story. The organ was played by Matterdale's resident expert Lucie Stockdale.
