Covid-19 / Coronavirus – don’t struggle alone
As the UK is now moving towards more self-isolation related to Covid-19 / Coronavirus, with recent news that the over 70s will soon be asked to self-isolate, we would like to make sure that all our neighbours are looked after where required.
In the first instance we would like to ask each of you to check-in with your neighbours to see if they need any help. If you can, please contact neighbours by phone, email or text. Failing that please print a copy of this note and post it through the door – maybe add your phone number so that they can ring you.
In preparation for self-isolation please consider putting a box or similar outside where shopping could be dropped in which a neighbour, or on-line deliverers could leave bagged food. Also make sure that you have numbers / email addresses of your neighbours handy so that you can check in with them to offer or ask for help. If you are living alone and have to self-isolate please let someone else know.
If you need help and cannot contact an immediate neighbour, or if you are able to offer help, then please contact one of the following people for your area:
Dockray area - Jane Newport 07876 456097 or 017684 82367 janenewport7@gmail.com
Matterdale End area– Anna Williams 82979 or 07771 814896 gprfanna15@hotmail.com
Ulcat Row area - Paddy Palmer 07814 673873 paddy.palmer@btinternet.com
Watermillock – Jane Petrie 07979 496155 jane.petrie@btinternet.com
In all circumstances everyone should be following government advice which is well publicised in the media or can be found by clicking on this link - Government coronavirus advice – or ask a neighbour to look it up for you.
Please don't be afraid to ask for help. It is in everyone's interests we properly self-isolate when requested to do so and work together to help those who need it the most.
This information will be included in the next issue of Together in Matterdale and Watermillock to try to ensure everyone has been informed.
