Summer is here, the lake is on our doorstep, why don’t we get wet more!

This last week for the first time I went swimming with a small number of other Matterdale folk at Glencoyne Bay on Monday morning. The sun shone, the lake shimmered, the mountains were bathed in early light, and the water was chilly but gloriously refreshing. After I sat on the stones in the warm sunshine chatting drinking hot coffee with my fellow swimmers, before heading off to get on with the day feeling energised.

 

This is not organised; anyone can come along to Glencoyne Bay at 8 am on Mondays. Hopefully the numbers will grow. 6 this week, 60 by August!
